Thinking Ahead

By Mary Shanks

Now is the time to start thinking about the show on February 24 (yes, that’s an official date). We need everyone to brainstorm ideas concerning what they want to see incorporated in this show. Though it is mostly about trading, showing and racing, the kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt and coloring contest, and we know there are more creative ideas floating around out there. Everyone bring your ideas to the next meeting, post to the forums, or send an e-mail to starcityhotwheels@cox.net for discussion.

Changes to Race Rules

We learned a lot from the last show and since then have decided to make a few changes to the way races are run. So far, we have decided that from now on there will be no backup cars allowed to run. A $2 entry pays for one car to race. We observed too many people racing more than one back up, and could come up with no practical way to keep track of who has run a back up car with the way we run our races. If you have any questions or comment about this decision please feel free to post to the forums or e-mail starcityhotwheels@cox.net.

Thanks!

I’d like to give thanks to Mary Shanks for sending in two of the articles for this newsletter... I hope she doesn’t mind my editing job.

Trade Show

There will be another trade show like the one held in October on Saturday December 2, 2006. We are currently looking for a location as we hope to have it at a restaurant this time

Hot Wheels Good Samaritan

By Mary Shanks

I am sorry we don’t have the man’s name, but he frequents the Wal-Mart in Lexington. Woody and Frances from Richmond were coming to visit on Saturday and in the style of all good Hot Wheels Collectors had to stop at the Wal-Marts along the way. They stopped in Lexington and Woody got to talking with a man who was also looking at the HWs . He told them he had found a Mustang Treasure Hunt in Krogers earlier. Woody was telling him about collecting them and he asked if he had the Mustang. Woody did not have it and he told him he would give him that one.  He wouldn’t let him pay for it and said maybe someday they would meet up again and he would be looking for a car that Woody had. THAT’S WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT!

Custom Car Contest

Be sure to check out the forum on the website for all the custom cars that are currently on display at Auto Toy Exchange.
